Jalebi Baby! Finally, a nut-free Indian dessert :)
Ingredients:
1 cup of Flour
1/4 tsp of Cardamom Powder
2 tsp of Corn Starch
1 tsp of Yeast
3/4 cups of Warm Water
1 tsp of Oil
1 tbsp of Yogurt
2 cups of Room Temperature Water
3 cups of Sugar
1 pinch of Saffron
1 tsp of Lemon Juice
1/2 tsp of Cardamom Powder
Steps:
Create batter by mixing Flour, Cardamom, Corn Starch, Yeast, Warm Water, Oil, and Yogurt.
Place batter bowl in a larger bowl of hot water so that batter dish floats.
Cover and let rest in dark for 1 hour.
Create sugar syrup by mixing Water, Sugar, Saffron, Lemon Juice, and Cardamom Powder over heat then let sit.
Heat oil for frying.
Pour batter into a ketchup bottle and create spirals in the hot oil. Fry for 1-2 minutes.
Place Jalebi on paper towel to remove excess oil.
Move Jalebi to sugar syrup and let soak.
